Opgericht in 1921 door Baptiste Dutheil en vervolgens ontwikkeld door René Couly die met Madeleine Dutheil trouwde, blijft Couly Dutheil een gezinswoning. Het landgoed wordt al vele jaren beheerd volgens het principe van gemotiveerde controle en respect voor het milieu (volledig onkruid wieden van de wijngaard, bladuitdunning, lage opbrengsten ...). Door deze culturele strengheid kan Couly-Dutheil de natuurlijke kwaliteit van druiven behouden en met de hand oogsten.
