The vineyards of Picollo Ernesto are located about 260 meters above sea level in Rovereto di Gavi.
In this area, hundreds of years ago, the cultivation of vines with “Cortese” grapes was started, with the production of good quality white wine. Initially the Cortese grape wine was mainly drunk in the restaurants of the Ligurian “Riviera”, but it soon became known throughout Italy.

The vineyards of Picollo, thanks to the love of the owners for their work and the efforts of three generations, have realized the dream of their founder (Lorenzo Picollo) and have, with many sacrifices, been able to modernize their wine cellars by equipping them with stainless steel barrels at controlled temperature and a bottling machine.

The entire production cycle takes place according to the old tradition and the firm belief that good wine comes only from excellent grapes. Currently, the farm has about seven hectares of vineyards with an average age of 25/30 years, mainly exposed to words in the south and the possibility of further enlargement. The cultivation of the vineyards is carried out according to traditional methods, without the use of herbicides.
