For many generations, the Durup family has been in Maligny, where they care for their vineyard, making them the main independent producer on Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume.

Winegrowers for generations, the Durup family has cultivated the Chablis vineyards for centuries. Jean Durup edited the vineyards of the Château de Maligny, an estate managed in the last century by Paul Gally, his great-grandfather.

The overwhelming percentage of ideally exposed slopes, stony ground and steep slopes guarantee wines of exceptional quality. L’Églantière is Jean Durup’s most renowned label in France. The various Chablis wines marketed under these two famous labels “Château de Maligny” and “l’Eglantière” are all made from the noble Chardonnay grape variety, the source of excellent wines known for their rich bouquet, subtlety and beautiful greenish color.

Today, Jean Durup has greatly developed the original estate, which now covers 155 hectares, making it the largest in Chablis.
